1. What is the Continuing
Education Program?
Continuing Education
is a relatively new concept for FBI employees. Although education
and training have always been a part of the FBI culture, it has
never been a job requirement. The Continuing Education Program
places education and development of all FBI employees at the forefront.
The Continuing Education Program is a comprehensive training strategy
encouraging individual employee development. This is the policy
which drives the employee development component of the new
Performance Appraisal System.
2. How can I obtain
my 15 hours required by this policy?
The hours of training
must be approved by your supervisor. The determination of the
worth of the activity--the number of CEU (Continuing Education
Units), the type of the activity, etc.--is done in conjunction
with your supervisor. A record needs to be kept by the employee
of all activities that have been completed.
